Pasquale Galianni

Astrophysicist

Welcome to my website. Below you’ll find some informations about me. I am an astrophysicist and I have been passionate about astronomy, physics and computer science since childhood. I graduated in physics (B.Sc.) at the University of Salento in 2011, with a thesis in astronomy. I was very lucky to be supervised by Prof. Sergio Fonti, he had a very positive influence on my life and was a good teacher and an extraordinary person, beloved by his students and colleagues (more about him here). While I was still finishing my B.Sc. degree I was admitted for a PhD in Astrophysics at the University of St Andrews since I managed to get two first author peer-reviewed papers as an undergraduate student (see here). I completed my PhD research under the supervision of Keith Horne and Hongsheng Zhao. Hongsheng and Keith are two formidable scientists from whom I learned a lot. I am now working as a freelance tutor and data scientist and still do research in my free time. Below some photos I took while wandering the beautiful landscapes of northern Italy. Enjoy!
